Centre 70 Workshops

Now an established part of Festival Fringe, Centre 70 (next to the Kinecroft) will be offering workshops of all manner on Saturday and Sunday. You’re more than welcome to come and try your hand at saw playing, ukulele, stringed instruments, tango, sea shanties and lots more! There will be something for everyone of all ages. There is no advance booking, just turn up on the day. We are asking for a minimum donation of £5 to help with covering costs.

Ever wanted to play a musical instrument but been afraid to try? Well, now’s your chance! Come along and join Pam & Steve. Everyone is welcome, including those who can play already. (Please bring your own uke if you have one, we can provide for those who don’t.) our sessions are aimed at absolute beginners. It’s strictly for fun, but we hope that you’ll learn something useful while you’re enjoying yourselves. So don’t be shy – give it a try. Come along and have a go.

Note: Children under 14 are welcome but must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Participation is limited to the number of ukes that we have, so it’s first come, first strum.

Children’s Singing Workshop

Children’s singing workshop with Jackie Oates, 5 -10 year olds. Learn to sing some beautiful folk songs in harmony with Jackie Oates. No previous experience required! Parents are welcome to stay and join in.

Story Telling for Grown Ups

Storytelling for Grown-Ups. Keith (‘The funniest thing to happen to Storytelling since the chicken crossed the road’) presents this interactive workshop for wannabe tellers and/or just lovers if Story. (This is a ‘PG’ event. Some of the tales are prrrrretty scary).

Tom is a local guitar tutor providing a fun inclusive acoustic guitar workshop for all levels and ages of budding guitarists. If you have a guitar, bring it along!

Beginners welcome, the workshop will have something for every player!
